FACILITIES IN THE SCHOOL

JUNIOR WING

The school is co-educational institution from nursery class onwards. Right from the start the focus of the school has always been to recognize every child as an individual and help him /her reach his/her full potential. In this endeavor we are supported by an able administrative and teaching staff. We also provide world class infrastructure and facilities for the wholistic development of the child.

Smart Class

All the class rooms are equipped with e-learning gadgets. Extra marks is installed in the system to make the teaching – Learning process easier. More and more modules are added each year.

Library

Use of Library:

The school has a rich library with a variety of books considering the multifarious interest of the students. The students are encouraged to read as many books as possible to quench their thirst for knowledge. The following guidelines are to be followed for the orderly use of the library.
a) Strict discipline and silence is to be observed in the library and reading room.
b) Library books will be issued to the senior classes which can be returned only during library period. Anyone failing to return the book on the due date shall incur a fine of Rs.10/- per day.
c) Marking, underlining, cutting, erasing or damaging pages of the books are strictly prohibited. Any damage or loss of library books shall be restituted by replacement of the book or by paying its cost with an additional fine by the borrower according to the discretion of the Librarian/Principal.
d) Periodicals/Magazines are to be read in the Library/Reading Room only and the same are to be placed in their specific places after use.
e) If necessary the Librarian/Principal may recall a book at any time.
f) All pupils from Fifth standard onwards must read a minimum of 12 English books, 6 Hindi books and 6 Punjabi books in a year. These could be equally divided in three terms. A one page summary of each book read must be shown to the class teacher or else 2 marks for every book not thus read will be deducted from English, Hindi and Punjabi paper in the Final examination. The number of books to be read during the academic year could be divided for each of the three terms in the year.

Laboratories

PHYSICS LAB

The school has a dedicated Physics Lab with the latest equipment for the students to perform the experiments and acquire hands on experience.

CHEMISTRY LAB

The Chemistry Lab is well equipped with all the modern apparatus and chemicals. The students are guided by teachers and lab assistants to complete their projects and experiments.

BIOLOGY LAB

The Biology Lab is an interesting place for all the students to visit because it takes them a step nearer to their own lives. Keeping the latest syllabus in mind the models, specimens, charts, chemicals etc. have been well planned.

LANGUAGE LAB

Language lab equipped is with modern communication system fitted for speech therapy and other audio and video activities which are designed to help them develop awareness about how they learn, improve their language skills like pronunciation and intonation. English, Hindi, Punjabi languages are taught in the school.

COMPUTER LAB

Computer lab is fitted with latest computers and internet access. The school houses a fully equipped Computer lab- for junior and senior wing where the complete strength of the classes can be catered at one go. The students have free access to the systems and are encouraged to exploit the system resources and in this, highly experienced and talented computer teachers, and a lab assistant support them.

MATHEMATICS LAB

It is a colorful lab to facilitate and engage the students in a variety of hands on learning experiences. The students and teachers have put together models and gadgets in the laboratory.

GEOGRAPHY LAB

A lab is well occupied with colourful maps and geographical instruments, globes which help students to understand the content in a better way.

PRAYER ROOM

To inculcate the habit of invoking the children towards God, Sacred Heart has a chapel, where children and staff offer prayers and learn to meditate and forget all the worries and tensions of the life.

SICK ROOM

The school medical room is being managed by a qualified and experienced medical assistant of a nurse. Besides the day to day work , the medical room provides the facility of regular health checkup of the students in the school.

ACTIVITY ROOM

The school has a colorful activity room equipped with mini-library, soft toys and other resources for students of classes nursery to 2nd to help them achieve an all round education in a child friendly environment. The room with its awe-inspiring backgrounds and colorful furniture of various shapes and sizes is designed to make learning more fun and exciting.

MUSIC ROOM

A special room with all the musical instruments and perfect musical ambience is provided to enhance the skills of the students. Each class has at least one music period in the curriculum to try their hands and voices on it.

Special hall is marked for the rehearsals of all extra activities like dance drama, assembly. A venue for all the indoor functions seminars, get together and counseling sessions. The background of the stage is adorned with a very inspiring theme through median of murals.

ART ROOM

o hone students creativity and aesthetic senses, we have an art hall where each class assembles in the art period. Here art is integrated with other subjects to boost the learning of all. The entire corridor and lobby is utilized by the masters and the students to exhibit their skills in art murals, art models, painting, photography all are displayed in this area.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

Safety first ‘ is the mantra of Sacred Heart Convent School, Takkarpura, Patti . We believe that a safe environment is imperative for learning. School gates are manned with round the clock security personnel. CCTV cameras are installed at important places in the school for real-time monitoring and surveillance. Fire extinguishers are installed at appropriate places to combat adverse situations. Regular inspections are conducted for checking hygiene and safety provisions. All legal formalities are complied with for smooth operations of the school.
